  • But the application, which is outside West Hill’s built up area boundary, on a pretty wildflower meadow opposite McColls, proposes two accesses, which is rather odd given that the previous application for 38 dwellings proposed just one access.

    It is one of the areas of land that residents approved for development under EDDC’s local plan consultation process last year.  West Hill is set to receive 35 houses under the local plan, until 2026.

    I have another concern – and that is potential loss of trees – there is a beautiful line of beeches and hornbeams along the edge of the land, which are a real feature of West Hill Road, which could be damaged by the second proposed access. I have commented to this effect.
