The committee, which has been beset by one problem after another such as:
– incorrect minutes – stating that councillors were going to scrutinise business in general
– an incorrect scope – relating to scrutinising business in general
– not being allowed to talk about the issue of biggest public concern – planning
– not being allowed to scrutinise EDBF at all (see whitewash agenda from 23 January)
– EDBF chair and vice-chair applying pressure to the chief executive on the membership of the committee ….…it now suffers from a new problem…..
….. being able to meet at all!
The entire issue seems to have come to a complete standstill
So when (and I have asked this question) does the committee get to scrutinise EDBF? Next week? Next month? Next year? Never?
No answer is forthcoming, but there have been dark hints about a review of the committee’s membership….
