• Two health motions before tomorrow’s (Thursday) Devon County Council meeting

    10th December 2014 | News | Claire
  • The first motion has already been supported by cabinet last month and comes with a recommendation that full council should approve it.

    It simply asks that:
    1. health services are a material planning consideration when determining planning applications
    2. health service commissioners become statutory consultees when determining a planning application above 10 houses

The second motion is a new one and asks that the full council opposes the NEW Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s plans to cut beds and minor injuries services across North, East and West Devon.

It also asks the council to write to all MPs urging them to push for increased funding for Devon’s health services, given the appalling historical underfunding issues in Devon, and the more recent reduction in growth funding of the NHS.

The meeting starts at 2.15pm and will be webcast live here – http://www.devoncc.public-i.tv/core/portal/home
