• Potential housing sites at Aylesbeare to be examined

    22nd May 2012 | News | Claire
  • Nine sites for potential housing developments at Aylesbeare, have been submitted by landowners.

    The pieces of land are:

    – one site to the east of Harp Lane
    – four large sites, running in a continuous line, are submitted behind the houses running along the eastern side of Village Way (W156, W035, W115, W034)
    – one site to the north of Oak Road (opposite the Village Hall) – (W161)
    – two sites to the south and east of Bramblemead (W838, W176)
    – one site to the west of the Aylesbeare Inn (W087)
    – one site to the west of Barton Farm, and adjacent to Oak Road (W078)

Aylesbeare has been allocated around five houses until 2026, under East Devon District Council’s Local Plan.

Rosamundford and Perkins Village do not have housing allocations as they are without built-up area boundaries.

Following this process, EDDC will do some work to assess the suitability of possible sites from a technical perspective, prior to contacting town and parish councils again, in the autumn.

At this stage, town and parish councils will be expected to consult their residents on which is the best possible site for housing.

I have asked the EDDC strategic planning team to give us as much notice as possible about the consultation time frame, so councillors can book venues and advertise the consultation event a long time in advance, to ensure as many people who want a say, have a say.
