• Ottery Town Council to discuss range of “hot topics” at West Hill next week

    1st July 2014 | News | Claire
  • On the agenda is:

    – A response to Devon County Council’s consultation on withdrawing funding to Ottery’s library
    – A report on in-patient services at Ottery St Mary Hospital, which is at risk of losing some, if not all of its beds
    – Considering the future of youth services in the town
    – To decide whether to press ahead with a neighbourhood plan for West Hill
    – To decide on any actions from a report from EDDC’s monitoring officer, following the unpleasant behaviour towards Cllr Roger Giles at Ottery Town Council’s meeting in December 2013
    – To decide who will sit on a working group to get involved with “delivering differently”

“Delivering Differently” is a cabinet office project, which will see three communities – Ottery St Mary, Tavistock and Totnes – receive help from Devon County Council officers and a team of consultants, so that the community can more easily move forward, following the raft of cuts, which is taking place in such a short space of time.

The meeting starts at 7pm and will be held at the Narthex, adjacent to the church, West Hill, on Monday (7 July).

Members of the public receive three minutes each to address the council, if they wish.

I look forward to seeing you there!
