• Office move won’t be discussed at next scrutiny meeting

  • Cllr Tim Wood has today replied to my email of last week, asking that the increasingly controversial issue, is placed on the next scrutiny agenda.

Instead, I am invited to raise the subject at the forward plan item, at the end of the meeting, which I will do.

I am not sure what will be listed on the agenda for the meeting on Thursday 26 September, 6.30pm, but from looking at the forward plan in the July agenda papers, there doesn’t appear to be anything anywhere near as important or significant as the office move.

The overview and scrutiny committee has discussed the relocation project just once before (July 2012) in my time as an EDDC councillor.  Some councillors, even back then, appeared to be nervous about it.  It was also evident that there was a considerable amount of steamrollering going on by senior conservatives.
