• Health scrutiny committee strongly opposes hospital bed cuts

    17th November 2014 | News | Claire
  • A coach full of Ottery residents protested with placards on the steps of county hall before the meeting.

Most of the councillors on the scrutiny committee were very concerned about the proposals.

Also included in the recommendation to the North, East, and West Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s (NEW Devon CCG) governing body, is a request for more detailed information about the impact of the plans, including finances.

All were in favour of my proposal to object to the plans, except three of the conservative group, who abstained.

The NEW Devon CCG will make its decision on 6 January, at a meeting held in the public domain.  That decision will be brought back to the health and wellbeing scrutiny committee, of which I am a member, on 16 January, for further consideration.
