• Grow a hairy upper lip for ‘Movember’

    5th November 2012 | News | Claire
  • Chief executive Mark Williams, finance director, Simon Davey and assistant parking services manager, Chris Hall, have now agreed to grow their own moustaches, as have councillors, Roger Giles (Ottery Town) and Mike Howe (Clyst Valley).

In a message to all councillors, Ian Thomas said:  “Prostate cancer is the most common male cancer in the UK, accounting for almost a quarter of male cancers. Each year, nearly 35,000 men are diagnosed and more than 10,000 die from the disease. Testicular cancer affects one in 450 men before the age of 50 and is the most common cancer in men between the ages of 15 and 45.

“The number of cases in the UK has doubled in the past 20 years and around 2,000 new cases are diagnosed each year, thankfully only 70 men die of it.”
