• Crippling cuts proposed at Devon County Council

    30th January 2014 | News | Claire
  • There isn’t time to outline all the proposals now, but I am really alarmed at some of the funding reductions to services to children and young people, which is a service under massive pressure.

Youth services are set to lose almost £1m and there are other services that help children and young people that are also being hit.

Highways is set to lose £6.6m, with huge implications for highways maintenance, as well as ditch and gulley clearance, which helps to prevent flooding.

I imagine that it is going to be a lively meeting with many councillors expressing concern about how the council can properly run its operation in the future.
