In a story in today’s Express & Echo, Cllr Bond, said “it seemed perfectly logical” that the new guidance issued by jointly by the Local Government Association and Planning Advisory Service, should be “immediately enshrined in the council’s constitution.”
Cllr Bond was referring to a standards committee meeting last week – here – https://www.claire-wright.org/index.php/post/eddc_to_consult_on_new_guidance_on_councillors_as_planning_agents/ , where it was proposed that the new guidance should be subject to consultation with officers and councillors before a decision is made on whether it is endorsed.
I am sure that Cllr Bond, who replaced Graham Brown, speaks for many people and at least some councillors. She certainly echoes my own views and those of Roger Giles.
