    And here ………..

A LONGSTANDING Exmouth town, district and county councillor has been found guilty of breaching the town council’s code of conduct.

A complaint was made against Lib Dem Councillor Eileen Wragg but the town council’s Conservative group. They accused Cllr Wragg of being “extremely rude” and making derogatory comments to town mayor, Councillor John Humphreys at last year’s annual town council meeting.

The complaint was referred to East Devon District Council’ s monitoring officer and subsequently referred to the standards committee who resolved that Cllr Wragg had been “discourteous and disrespectful” to Cllr Humphreys and therefore broken the code of conduct.

Cllr Wragg said: “The investigation was an appalling waste of taxpayers’ money. I told them what I said, I don’t know why there had to be an investigation. I too have been spoken to in an unpleasant manner many times – there seems to be one rule for one and another for others.”

And here’s the EDDC decision notice.

Last year, Cllr Wragg was found guilty of breaching the councillor’s code of conduct by EDDC’s standards committee for writing a letter to the Exmouth Journal, which was critical of an officer.  For more on this see this post – http://www.claire-wright.org/index.php/post/councillor_walks_out_of_her_own_standards_hearing
