  • Sadly, if the West Hill Royal British Legion club doesn’t find the money to replace its roof, it may have to close.

Huge efforts from the club’s committee have been made to encourage more people to use the facility, including holding many events at the Legion, such as last year’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, and a community New Year’s Eve Party.  Monday night is now Film Night and a big breakfast is held quite regularly, which is a really nice social occasion.  Community helpers have also spruced up the interior of the building.

More people are now attending the West Hill Legion than in many years, which helps with the push to keep it open but the building’s future is under threat unless the club can raise around £25,000 for a new roof, which they have been told by RBL’s London head office that they must provide to keep it open.

Tomorrow night the doors open at 7pm.  There will be no charge for entry and all donations will go straight to the roof fund.
