• Another sand and gravel quarry near West Hill?

    25th March 2011 | News | Claire
  • There would be a vast scar in the Devon countryside. It would be seen from many miles away and there would be noise and dust, as well as a huge numbers of lorries rumbling along our local road network.  There is no need for a new quarry at Straitgate Farm, as an existing quarry near Uffculme has reserves that could meet our sand and gravel needs for almost a century.

Residents can be assured that I will do my utmost to protect their quality of life and oppose this damaging and unnecessary proposal. For more information visit: Minerals Core Strategyor contact Andy Hill, Devon County Council Minerals and Waste Policy Officer, on 01392 383510.

The consultation closes on Friday 29 April.
