No date has yet been set for the appeal, but it will take the form of an informal hearing.  This is not quite as formal as a public inquiry and there will be opportunities for submissions from residents.  It is likely to be held at EDDC’s offices, the Knowle, Sidmouth.

The main grounds for the appeal seem to be the last minute withdrawal from the November planning committee meeting’s agenda, where it was recommended for approval.  The application was then relisted on the December agenda, recommended for refusal, following the Blue Cedar Homes appeal being dismissed, largely for landscape reasons.

There is no need to forward your comments to the planning inspector, as they will be sent on by East Devon District Council.  However, if you would like the inspector to visit your property, if it is adjacent to Westhayes, for example, you will need to make this request in writing to: Planning Inspectorate, 3/16 Eagle Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN quoting ref. APP/U1105/A/11/2166907/NWF.

I make public a date and time for the appeal hearing, when one is set.
