The application from Blue Cedar Homes, which is outside West Hill’s built up area boundary, is a revision from a previous one in 2010, which was rejected and then later dismissed at appeal. The previous application was for 50 houses and spanned two fields.
The revised application is targeted at the field next to Eastfield, but it is understood that the developer has bought the second field, which is behind Perry’s Gardens.
The land next to Eastfield was one of the pieces of land selected by residents during last year’s Ottery Town Council consultation on where future development in the village should go. West Hill is set to receive 35 houses under EDDC’s local plan.
Yesterday evening I (with the help of Roger Giles) delivered 120 letters to people living near the field in question, letting them know about the application and how and where to view the plans.
I have been advised not to get involved with giving a view on this application, as my parents live nearby.
