If you would like to meet EDDC Independent candidates for Ottery Rural ward, Matt Coppell and Crawford Winlove, here’s when and where you can catch up with them!
A trip down memory lane to my old school, not set foot in since 1992! Really pleased to see that it has been beautifully refurbed with excellent new facilities and its amazing field with wonderful views had not changed a bit.
Many thanks to Heather Padden, from Clyst Vale hustings yesterday. Some lovely feedback after event!
Hustings last Friday evening at Glenorchy Church Hall in Exmouth. There were so many people there I found it difficult to count - maybe 150 - spilled into the lobby, out on the stairwell and quite a few had to be turned away!
The atmosphere was tense and there was a lot of heckling and emotion in the room. Feelings are clearly running very high in this election ....
Here’s the letter he wrote to the Echo….. http://www.exeterexpressandecho.co.uk/letter-Hugo-Swire-East-Devon-safe-seat-marginal/story-26360981-detail/story.html
John Henderson from BBC Spotlight/Sunday Politics followed me canvassing at Topsham last week, at Newport Park (fabulous views across the estuary).
I also did a short interview with him about what I hoped to achieve if elected to parliament on 7 May.
I am not sure when it will be broadcast yet.
What a fabulous meeting which took place at Exmouth Rugby Club last Thursday evening (16 April), with around 120 people gathered and many walking away with A3 and A1 posters, plus we received a bucket full of extremely generous donations to the campaign!
Here’s the email that was sent to the East Devon Conservatives this morning from a DCC highways officer ............
Dear Sir or madam,
Under the Highways Act it is an offence to Fly post on Highway verges and street furniture.
Please can you remove the advertising signs within 7 days.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the Electoral Reform Society now regards East Devon as a marginal seat. See story here - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/general-election-2015/11527109/Has-your-constituency-already-been-won-in-the-2015-general-election-Find-our-here.html
The press release below is from Paul Arnott, Chair of the East Devon Alliance. This is the first time EVER that East Devon District Council has a chance of stepping into the light, after operating in decades of darkness….........
Last night I attended a meeting at Topsham, which was convened because of a threat of building on the green wedge, that separates the town from Exeter.
The creative (and very precise) Tom Corcoran from Tipton has opted for a different way of showing his support for my parliamentary campaign!
Here he is putting the finishing touches to his work ...
