By |2014-10-19T14:27:00+00:00October 19th, 2014|News|

It seems Mr Swire has changed his mind about hospital bed cuts at Ottery.

I am guessing he has received many letters and emails from angry local people following his intitial positive position, which was broadcast on BBC Radio Devon last month - transcript here - https://www.claire-wright.org/index.php/post/hugo_swire_on_ottery_hospitals_bed_losses_this_is_not_the_time_for_whipping

To my relief, EDDC’s overview and scrutiny committee voted in favour of expressing anger and concern over the NEW Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s proposals to cut all beds from Ottery St Mary and Axminster Hospitals.

EDDC chief executive on the ropes in front of a parliamentary committee about voter registration

By |2014-10-14T14:24:00+00:00October 14th, 2014|News|

What follows is an extraordinary transcript of what must have been a very challenging experience for EDDC’s chief executive, Mark Williams yesterday, who was called to explain himself before the political and constitutional reform select committee, who were examining voter registration.

Mr Williams was actually accused of breaking the law by MPs.

I can feel another email to Mr Swire coming on. He hasn’t answered the last one about suspending the capture of the beavers on the basis that it may be unlawful - https://www.claire-wright.org/index.php/post/hugo_swire_urged_to_request_beaver_capture_be_suspended

Hugo Swire: Claire Wright has twisted my words over hospital bed cuts

By |2014-10-03T12:56:00+00:00October 3rd, 2014|News|

Yesterday, an update (see image) appeared on West Hill’s conservative notice board.  East Devon MP, Hugo Swire says I have twisted his words in my leaflet to the Ottery parish (kindly delivered by many helpers) inviting them to a public meeting about the hospital on Tuesday 7 October, 7.30pm at the Institute.  In the leaflet I say that he supported the CCG proposals.

So, have I twisted his words?  We have transcribed his interview with BBC Radio Devon below and will leave you to make your own minds up .....
