I’m the EDDC tory whip - but I never use it

Below is a very long (rather intriguing) letter by Cllr Phil Twiss, published in today’s Ottery/Sidmouth Herald.

This letter responds to a letter published in last week’s Herald by Cllr Roger Giles, who mentioned Cllr Twiss’s denials on using the whip .......................................................

EDDC’s huffy reaction to Knowle right of way decision

By |2013-11-21T17:45:33+00:00November 21st, 2013|News|

Below is EDDC’s rather testy response to the planning inspector’s decision on designating the paths through the Knowle grounds an official public right of way.

I have to say that I am slightly incredulous that the paths and the grounds in question are all bought with taxpayers money in any case, so I find the concept of all this battling for control of the land akin to robbing residents of their entitlements. Restrictions set to be imposed on public speaking at EDDC

By |2013-11-20T19:54:00+00:00November 20th, 2013|News|

This is an interesting one from http://www.politics.co.uk - unfortunately Mr Boles thinks that the answer is to change to a different party name - the National Liberal Party….  which sounds to me like the oxymoron of “sustainable development”  ... and wasn’t there a similar sounding such party name in Germany, during the early part of the 20th century ...?

Ottery wildflower pilot verges … scarified and seeded

By |2013-11-19T12:21:21+00:00November 19th, 2013|News|

Passing drivers in the Ottery area yesterday may have wondered why a small group of people were enthusiastically raking and stamping on roadside grass in Ottery, Tipton and West Hill, as we got to work on Devon County Council’s wildflower verge pilot.
