Lawyer: EDDC planning process was subverted by councillors

A planning lawyer representing an Axminster campaign group who lodged a legal challenge against EDDC granting permission for 400 houses in Axminster. has criticised EDDC councillors who encouraged developers to bring forward a planning application, which pre-empted the new Local Plan.

Corporate giants to be given more access to ministers

If you were concerned about the quiet government lobbying that goes on by the powerful multi-nationals, you will be worried to hear the latest plans.

And East Devon’s MP, Hugo Swire, is listed as being “buddied” with controversial pharmaceutical giant, Procter & Gamble.

Some of you may remember that the damaging National Planning Policy Framework was written by a team of big developers.

Natural England objects to EDDC’s Local Plan

The government’s statutory consultee on environmental issues, Natural England, is opposing EDDC’s Local Plan, declaring that the level of development proposed at Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Axminster is “unsound.”

King’s School unable to expand further

King’s School governors have written to East Devon District Council, as part of the Local Plan consultation, to confirm that the school is unable to take more pupils than are currently in attendance.
